A Taste of Florida - Key Lime Tart
This Tart Allowed Me to Finish in the Top 10 of the World Food Championships
Pie Crust Recipe:
- 1 ¼ cup Self-Rising Flour
- 1/8 Cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 Stick of Cold Butter
- 3 ½ tbsp Ice Water
Mix Together Flour, Sugar, and Salt into a Food Processor. Cut up the Cold Butter and Add. Blend Together the Mixture and Slowly Add the Ice Water. Pre-Bake for 10 minutes at 350 Degrees
Key Lime Custard:
- 1 Cream Cheese Packet (8 Ounces)
- 1 Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 Ounces)
- 3 Egg Yolks
- ½ Cup of Key Lime Juice
Mix All Ingredients Together in a Blender and Pour into Pie Crust. Bake at 350 Degrees for 10 minutes or Until Custard Begins to Set.
Assembly of Fruit Tart:
- Pre-Bake the Tart Crust
- Line Bottom of the Tart with Sliced Peaches
- Fill Tart with Key Lime Custard
- Bake Tart Again
- Top with Kiwi, Strawberries, and Berries
